General Job Description:

A Cycle Counter is responsible for various warehouse functions including but not limited to shipping, receiving, order picking and staging, production support, cycle counting of various commodities and item/ lot / location audits and verifications. Cycle counter will be under the direction of the Inventory Control Specialist and/or Warehouse Supervisor.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) at all times.
  • Cycle count inventory on an as-needed basis
  • Assist in the scrapping of un-needed, obsolete, and damaged inventories
  • Assist in various inventory projects such as consolidation, customer returns and item verifications
  • Perform various computer functions such as running reports, entering updated inventory data by using basic computer commands in QAD and barcode inventory system
  • Enter inventory data using a handheld barcode gun while counting in the   various warehouses.
  • Research inaccuracies
  • Run and execute various inventory and warehouse reports.
  • Pick and stage materials for work orders according to internal SOP.
  • Load/unload, verify and receive incoming materials
  • Support production lines by supplying necessary materials for production operation as requested

• Create Purchase Orders and Change Orders; Maintain, copy and file receiving, and purchase order paperwork as required for Accounts Payable and Storeroom record.
• Receives all shipped or delivered parts and supplies, logs in receipt of materials, tags all materials, distributes to floor or stores in inventory; periodically picks up parts or supplies.

• Identifies required parts for repairs and properly requisitions parts or sends parts out for repair; returns broken and non-functional parts to vendors for account credit.
• Consults with maintenance staff regarding supply orders; orders building maintenance materials and supplies as requested.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Monitors production lines to ensure efficiency; performs real time visual inspections of product and process.

• Load tumbler with parts; add cleaning or abrasive compound and water in prescribed amounts; clamp cover, start machine, and tumble; unload barrel and separate parts from media with the correct screen.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications and ensure parts are not plugged in bores or recess prior to leaving area.
• Assist in training of personnel in tumbling methods and operating procedures.
• Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to Supervisor.

  • Able to use basic hand and power tools
  • Basic Math
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Able to read blueprints/drawings
  • Hand eye coordination and dexterity
  • Basic computer skills

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow safety guidelines
  • Follow standard work instructions as assigned
  • Perform hands-on tasks
  • Lift up to 50lbs, stand, bend, and reach
  • Maintain clean and organized workspace
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Meet production standards
  • Work in a team environment
  • Accurate recordkeeping and inventory documentation
  • Inspection of product
  • Experience with electronic assembly, a plus
