Primary Responsibilities:

• With no supervision, must set-up, run, and inspect parts to drawing specifications using manual mills and lathes.

• Candidate is required to perform first article inspections and correct any discrepancies between part measurements and print requirements.

• Machinist must perform advanced set-up and fixturing of jobs.

• Candidate must have the ability to troubleshoot and rectify any problems.

• Senior machinist should be adept in all aspects of machining and assist other machinists as needed.

About the position:

Operate CNC HAAS Milling machine, CNC Lathe Okuma 10 & Okuma 10 SS and Okuma 12 with OSB 300 L Control (Okuma 10SS and 12 running with sub spindle live tooling). Our machines are 3-Axis, 4- Axis and 5-Axis, working with aluminum, plastic and stainless steel to make simple parts.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

• Set up and tear down a work order on a CNC Machine.

• Responsible for in process inspection (utilizing calipers, micrometers)

• Responsible for making adjustments to offsets, and program as needed to maintain tolerances.

• Must be able to work off of blueprints

• Must be able to accurately use shop math in checking parts.

• Perform basic maintenance to the machines (clean and maintain, no mechanical repairs – weekly and monthly coolant maintenance)

• Maintain the machine within the scope of its ability.

• You will be expected to help around the shop with deburring, tapping, etc. as needed to keep parts moving

• Maintain all paperwork associated with producing the part and maintaining company records.

We have a direct hire opening for a CNC Machinist at a shop in Everett that specializes in precision machined aerospace, medical, and commercial parts and assemblies. This is a 2nd shift opening! 

  • In this role, set up and operate CNC machines and machining centers to fabricate precision parts per engineering specifications without supervision.
  • These close tolerance and complex parts are manufactured for avionics, aerospace hydraulics, and medical device items for imaging systems, biopsy instruments, and prosthetics.
  • Parts are machined from Aluminum, Stainless Steel and Titanium as well as a wide range of plastics.

Direct Hire Opportunity – Be on our client’s payroll from DAY 1!

Salary and Shift Information:

  • Pay: $32-$39/hour
  • 2nd Shift: 3:20 pm-1:20 am, Monday-Thursday, with overtime on Friday as requested

  • Thoroughly inspect first part run with high complexity
  • Meet job standard times without supervision
  • Ensure part count and data entry are accurate and correct consistently
  • Accurately complete and maintain all paperwork
  • Follow all safety guidelines established by the company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
  • Solve complex problems independently, as well as routine problems that occur
  • Have a fluent understanding of G&M codes, and be able to edit or program on the shop floor
  • Look for ways to reduce cycle times without being asked
  • Optimize programs in collaboration with engineering and management
  • Create machine tooling to support manufacturing and engineering

As a Machinist II you are responsible for the operation of computer controlled machines to perform one or more machine functions on a variety of materials

 

Machinist II job Duties:

• Set Up CNC equipment with supervision as needed

• Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed

• Perform FP (First Part) and In-Process part inspections

• Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins, and other measuring equipment needed to complete work

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience with CNC machining, aerospace blueprints/drawings and specifications OR equivalent education/experience required

• Skilled Trade certification from accredited college, community college, or vocational school preferred.

• Basic knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

• Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry.

• Skill in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges

• Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations.

Payrate: $20 to $25 per hour based on shift and verified job experience

Employbridge is searching for a seasoned CNC machinist. We are specifically looking for someone with great intelligence and advanced skills that can work with a variety of machines to create tools. CNC machinists are responsible for setting up and operating different CNC machines and equipment. This position requires skills in mechanical design, technical drawings, mathematics, and computer programming, so they can produce critical products in our world today. If you have a passion for computer technology and have an eye for detail, you may be the perfect candidate for fulfilling this position as a CNC machinist.

Typical duties and responsibilities

  • Examine and analyze blueprints, sketches, and computer-related files
  • Set up and operate computer numerically controlled (CNC) tools 
  • Measure and examine the effectiveness of completed products
  • Produce products to specifications 
  • Operate various machinery

Education and experience

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Community colleges and technical school degrees are preferred.

Job Description:

Operate CNC Machines, Vertical and Horizontal Mills and Lathes in a timely manner while observing all safety procedures. Make all necessary offset adjustments to maintain part specifications within the customers request.

-Operate manual and automated machines. Moving and packing parts. Proper handling of parts per the router. Perform regular quality checks. Complete all related paperwork accurately and timely. Maintain a clean work area. Other duties as assigned.

-Must be able to stand for long periods of time, capable of performing visual inspections, hearing instructions and communicating effectively. Able to read and use Mic’s, read and understand blueprints. Capable with authorization of making all necessary offset adjustments to maintain parts per customer requirement.

This role involves both standard machining tasks and special projects, requiring a strong understanding of mechanical drawings and precise measurements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain lathe machines for the production of high-precision components.
  • Manufacture plate cylinders, ensuring precise fits and adherence to detailed specifications.
  • Use gear shapers to create and fine-tune gears, ensuring accuracy in dimensions.
  • Diagnose and repair machine breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Perform build-up, grinding, and re-welding of various shafts as needed.
  • Weld steel, cast iron, aluminum, and stainless steel components, as well as braze brass materials.
  • Fabricate sheet metal parts, including guards, ink pans, and other custom components.
  • Assist with dismantling and rebuilding machinery and other equipment.
  • Grind rubber rolls to exacting standards.
  • Manufacture custom parts in accordance with mechanical drawings, ensuring dimensional accuracy.
  • Cut shafts to specified dimensions.
