Job Opening: Tumbler Operator

ResourceMFG has a great opportunity for a Tumbler Operator within a Aerospace company in Chatsworth, CA.
Pay: $18 – $20 DOE
Hours: 11PM – 7:30PM
Sunday to Thursday
(will be trained in the morning for 2-3 months)
This is a temp to hire opportunity.
Occupational Summary:
Performs tumbling machine operations on components to specified procedures by performing the below duties:
Job Skills:
• Ability to read and understand complex written and verbal instructions in English
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction) and maintain an understanding of the decimal system
Other Requirements:
• Note: Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Operate all types of tumbling machines and sandblasters to deburr, smooth, and burnish bearing components such as balls, rings, retainers, shields, and seals.
• Refer to Shop Order, routing tickets, and standard procedures book for operation sequence, identify proper media for the job, and length of operating cycle.
• Check all parts before running to identify (i.e. heavy burrs, mixed parts, nicks in track, or bore etc.). Be sure media will not plug bores or recesses.
• If needed, media will be screened according to the correct size needed.
• Follow established procedures and verbal instructions.
• Load tumbler with parts; add cleaning or abrasive compound and water in prescribed amounts; clamp cover, start machine, and tumble; unload barrel and separate parts from media with the correct screen.
• Check parts for conformance to specifications and ensure parts are not plugged in bores or recess prior to leaving area.
• Assist in training of personnel in tumbling methods and operating procedures.
• Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to Supervisor.
