Job Title: CNC Lathe Operator

Location: Fraser, MI

Shift: 3:00pm-11:00pm

Pay: $20+ based on experience

 

The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture parts that meet exact specifications. This role requires hands-on experience with CNC lathes, strong blueprint reading skills, and a commitment to precision and efficiency.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

 

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision components.

  • Load raw materials and set tooling in accordance with setup sheets and engineering drawings.

  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine machine setup and operations.

  • Monitor machining operations to detect issues with tooling, materials, or machine performance.

  • Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional standards.

  • Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure proper machine calibration.

  • Make program edits as needed to ensure optimal performance and part accuracy.

  • Maintain production records and complete quality documentation.

  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and throughput.

  • Comply with all safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work area.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ years of experience operating and setting up CNC lathes.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and GD&T.

  • Strong understanding of CNC programming fundamentals (G-code, M-code).

  • Familiarity with Fanuc or similar CNC controls.

  • Skilled in using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators).

  • Excellent attention to detail and quality.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Follow action and communication protocols for nonstandard deviation in processes or materials.

  • Provide disciplinary actions as required.
  • Manage and verify build book and test documentation completion.
  • Work and plan daily with other department supervisors for an efficient transition of equipment from one department to the other.
  • Verify that all procedures that have been implemented are being complete in the time frame required.
  • Confirm that all equipment is complete and tested to the test plan.
  • Work with Electronics Specialist to keep testing running according to plan.
  • Communicate to engineering of any changes need to test document.
  • Plan and work to the test plan from Start-Up through Customer Acceptance Test.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MATERIAL HANDLER – 1st shift, 6 a.m. – 4 p.m.

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR – 2nd shift, 3:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

SAW OPERATOR – 2nd shift, 3:30 p.m. – 1:30 a.m.

Wyoming, IL

MATERIAL HANDLER

  • Handling and packing of both parts and products
  • Movement and re-stocking
  • Maintain in process inventory levels

CNC MACHINE OPERATOR, SAW OPERATOR

  • Will utilize experience to operate a variety of CNC Lathes or Mills and to timely and efficiently produce  production parts to required specifications.
  • Works with a wide variety of materials, tooling and machine operations. Ability to interpret complex blueprints and apply a variety of geometric and Trigonometric principles.
  • Inspects precision parts and makes necessary adjustments to maintain accuracy
  • Promptly and accurately completes all required recordkeeping.
  • Performs machine maintenance and keeps the machine and surrounding work area clean, safe and well organized.
  • Debur parts when time allows
  • Maintain the security and confidentially of our customer’s products and documentation.

Job Requirements:

Past experience is a plus.

Experience in uploading, downloading and detailed editing of programs.

Capable of working with a wide variety of materials, select speeds, feeds and tooling.

Thorough knowledge of cutting tool selections.

Material Handler should have knowledge of machining/assembly environment 

Material handler should have 3-5 years experience
