The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments, as well as creating the BOL using pick tickets, sales orders and purchase orders. This position is more than just loading and unloading trucks! The duties include organizing inventory for easy retrieval as new orders come in, reviewing incoming and outgoing shipment schedules to maintain productive operations and documenting damage to inventory. This position also includes entering receipt of goods into our Sage 100 Inventory Program to maintain inventory accuracy.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Shipping Clerk will be able to process incoming and outgoing deliveries by:

• Obtain and process pick tickets, sales and purchase orders.
• Maintain inventory accuracy by counting items received on incoming and outgoing shipments and noting same on Bill of Lading.
• Packaging of outbound shipments by palletizing, boxing, banding, or shrink-wrapping material to prevent damage during shipment. Must use weights and dims to process carrier pickup.
• Carrier selection and costing to save the company and customer shipping costs.
• Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory such as damage, freight cost or delays.

Utilize forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory appropriately

Skills & Qualifications

Shipping Clerk is responsible for sorting, organizing, and transferring goods; they also must have the following skills and qualifications:

• Five years prior experience in Shipping & Receiving using Bills of Lading, Pick Tickets, Sales Orders and Purchase Orders in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Basic knowledge or ability to perform visual, surface plate layout, verify outside processes, in-process and final inspection of manufactured, purchased and assembled items, units or systems and packaging, packing and marking of units prior to shipment in accordance with drawing, planning, purchase order and/or customer requirements. Comprehension and accurate execution of quality assurance methods and procedures.

Complete inspection, work order, AS9102 1st Article and test records, reports, logs, rejection reports and inputting quality data into ERP database.

Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of test data. Communicate inspection results to relevant personnel and departments.

Conduct inspections and tests of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with established quality standards

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, adept with Trigonometry – GD&T.

Ability to use standard inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gage, thread gages, etc..), experience or efficiency with CMM-coordinate measuring machines is desirable, but not mandatory (target-goal to obtain level III)

Ability to read and interpret purchase orders/contracts, drawings, industry standards and specifications, comprehension and compliance to customer specifications and requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential process improvements and making recommendations.

Participate in training and cross-training programs to develop and maintain knowledge of inspection techniques, quality control processes, and industry regulations. Follow all safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Job Summary:

The Layout Inspector is responsible for performing precision inspections and verifications of 
machined and fabricated parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, 
and industry standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining quality assurance by 
utilizing advanced measuring tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, 
micrometers, height gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Interpret and apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles in 
verifying part accuracy.
• Read and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation to
