Well known university in Houston seeking Manual Machinist to support Research team.  You’ll be able to work year- round/40 hour work week and help prototype some amazing items.

Position requires:

• A manual machinist with 5+ years of experience.
• This will be fabrication work, repairs and rebuilds.
• Knowledge of blueprints, schematics and drawing will be expected
• Basic shop math is required (right triangle).
• Machinist must have own machinist tools.
• AC shop environment

Office Service Associate will assist and provide postal/shipping information to customers through the mail room window, advising of best pricing available through USPS or alternative services.

Assist with maintaining the inventory of required Office Services working tools and shipping/packing supplies needed to complete projects.

Coordinate with the Lead, Supervisors and Manager regarding scheduling and setting priorities for jobs and assignments to be completed each day.

Examine U.S. and International mail (such as USPS Certified Mail or USPS Express Mail) for correct weight and pricing accuracy.

Maintain accountability and cleanliness of Office Services areas, to include supply/storage rooms, building dock areas and equipment (mail room carts, etc.).

Process shipping documents while maintaining high level of entry accuracy.

Re-addresses undeliverable mail to ensure proper and correct routing.

Participate in mail gathering, sorting and distribution both internally and externally in an efficient manner.

Perform other miscellaneous company errands as assigned.

Complete work assignments on a daily basis.

Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm. Overtime may be required.

Summary: This person will need to be very technical in order to set up our lines properly (sensors in the right spot, labels threaded correctly, trydiene pieces accounted for/put together appropriately, etc.) and help with changeovers. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of being a leader that works well with others and can pick up new machinery as some production equipment is custom made. You will also need to enjoy training others, you will be required to consistently train lead hands and veteran line employees on the machines/troubleshooting. 

Essential duties: •Must understand how to maintain machines.

•Excellent training skills displayed through training new machine operators.

•Perform proper set-up and calibration procedures for all equipment and accessories.

•Posses effective written and verbal communication skills.

•Must be comfortable monitoring equipment performance and ensure that they are ready to be used.

•Basic hand tool knowledge.

•Ability to carry out safety checks on the machinery.

•Inspect workflows to ensure that technical and quality standards are met.

•CNC machine programming preferred but not required.

•Food Production Equipment Experience is preferred but not required.

•Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

•Ability to bend, lift, twist, or crouch.

•You must be able to lift approx. 50lbs.

•Steel-toed shoes are required.

Finishing Operator

$18-20 DOE.

8:00am to 4:30pm Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities include various tasks relating to the wood finishing process: prepping, sanding, possibly staining, and inspecting material. While the role is not physically strenuous, it does involve a lot of standing.
