The protocol analyzers test electronics that connect through serial communication protocols such as USB, Bluetooth, Ethernet, etc.
In this role, ensure products are designed for manufacturability, produced efficiently and cost-effectively, and to the highest quality standards.
Salary and Shift Information:
- Salary: $112k to $150k/annually
- 1st shift: 8 am-5 pm; Monday to Friday
Job Duties of the Product Engineer:
- Maintain continuous product flow by quickly identifying and resolving any manufacturing problems that arise
- Analyze manufacturing and engineering data to improve quality and reduce cost
- Recommend changes to designs that improve product quality, simplify manufacturing processes, and reduce costs
- Develop efficient manufacturing processes that reduce cycle times and costs
- Training staff in technical skills like electronic/mechanical troubleshooting and computer skills
- Develop strategies that cut manufacturing costs without compromising product quality
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to smoothly introduce new product introductions into the manufacturing process
- Plan and design manufacturing processes
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Obtain feedback from the RMA Repair Technician and QC to determine the scope of product issues for continuous improvement
- Create and review engineering change orders and manage product changes
- Create and modify manufacturing and test software
- Analyze and report on manufacturing and engineering data
- Interpret schematics and create detailed, step-by-step instructions that ensures staff can accurately follow test procedures
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test tools and strategies that ensure products meet all required specifications and quality standards
- Test and troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level that they are developing or manufacturing

Job Requirements of the Product Engineer:
- Have 5 years of related experience in the SMT manufacturing industry
- Have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Familiar with test engineering and SMT manufacturing
- Requires understanding of detail circuit analysis
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and six sigma principles and methodologies
- Experience working with databases and data manipulation
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of PC operating systems and PC system hardware components
- Knowledge of computer programming
