The Assembler is responsible for basic, manual tasks related to assembling industrial HVAC units. Tasks can include building basic subassemblies using hand tools (wrenches, hammers, pliers and drills), installing high-temp padding (either cut with retractable knife or using a simple spot welder), and assisting in installation of components for the unit (fans, shafts, dampers, etc.). After training, this position will build smaller HVAC units. Assignments will typically be overseen by the more experienced Assemblers in the area. The Panel Builder is responsible for building custom electrical panels to be installed in industrial HVAC equipment. This includes mounting electrical devices (transformers, drives, etc.) to a backplate using hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches), running wire between the devices using hand tools (wire cutters and strippers) and labeling each wire during the build. A typical panel takes 8 hours to build. The layout of each panel is shown on a set of electrical prints. The process of panel building, as well as the specifics of reading an electrical print, will be taught to a new Panel Builder.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing advanced maintenance duties to support safe, efficient, and reliable operation of building systems and production equipment. This role requires strong mechanical and technical skills, the ability to work independently, and the capability to support and train other maintenance personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform all duties associated with Maintenance Person Level 3 work.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance on building systems and production equipment.
- Perform plumbing repairs, electrical troubleshooting, and work with pneumatic, hydraulic, and lubrication systems.
- Assist Tool Room Machinists, Electrical Maintenance Technicians, and Mechanics with complex maintenance and repair tasks.
- Perform welding, brazing, and soldering for maintenance repairs and fabrication projects.
- Provide training, guidance, and technical support to Maintenance Person Level 3 personnel.
- Work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision while following all safety policies and procedures.

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety, environmental science, engineering, or a related field.

- Maintain working knowledge of applicable Cal/OSHA, EPA, DTSC, SCAQMD, CUPA, stormwater, wastewater, NFPA and local requirements and support site compliance efforts.
- Collaborate with HR on Workers’ Compensation coordination, employee safety issues, and related programs.

- Onboarding & Orientation: Schedule and conduct onboarding for new hourly employees (full-time and temporary), covering safety/PPE, quality standards, and core operating tasks; facilitate SOPs, work instructions, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) training.
- Training Administration: Track training assignments, skill paths, certification sign-offs, and retraining; maintain organized training records and produce simple status reports by shift.
- SOP/JHA Change Management: Coordinate retraining when procedures change; help implement and communicate updates, partnering with supervisors and subject matter experts (SMEs).
- Training Planning: Prepare weekly training schedules, notify employees, and adjust for coverage across 1st/2nd/3rd shifts; provide hands-on floor support during sessions as needed.
- Safety & Continuous Improvement: Participate in Safety Committee activities; capture floor feedback and hazards; support CI tasks and refresh training materials based on improvement outcomes.
