An essential Manufacturer in Chatsworth is looking for a Machine Operator III.

Pay $22.00/hr
1st Shift: 1:00am – 1:00pm (Regular Hours) 5;00am – 1:30pm

Must have steel toe shoes/boots
Location: Chatsworth CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday – OT + weekends

Your primary activities will include but are not limited to:

• Plan changeover schedule for each machine/line to include changeover parts are cleaned and inspected prior to each changeover, review changeover checklist, set-up, and start-up each piece of equipment, and support machine/line until operation is achieved.

• Use of hand tools, portable power tools, and material handling equipment to perform a precision set-up during production line change over.

• Performs routine preventive maintenance on equipment by making regular inspections and completing assigned preventive maintenance work orders.

• Assist Maintenance Technician in diagnosing problems to learn to perform complex repairs.

• Accountable for the set-up, operation and troubleshooting of equipment, including mechanical and programmable controls, as well as completing the necessary filler, blender, encapsulators, tablet presses, coating, conveyor, vacuum transfer systems, and palletizer adjustments for changeovers.

• Assists team in teardown/setting up heavy machinery, operating various equipment, sanitization (major/minor clean)

• Performs manual aspects of the operation process, including but not limited to making boxes, loading machines, hand packing product, visual and physical checks of in process and finished materials as trained and instructed by supervisor, in compliance with all safety and cGMP procedures

• Learns and performs one or more aspect(s) of the automated operation process, including but not limited to running of machines, as trained and instructed by supervisor, in compliance with all safety and cGMP procedures

• Flexibility and adaptable to learn and perform washroom procedures in compliance with all safety and cGMP guidelines

• Responsible to ensure each product is prepared, filled, assembled, packed, and documented according to work instructions/SOP’s, batch records, and cGMP guidelines

• Accurately enter data records in Redzone and interpret written information within the batch record

• Properly wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as required per cGMP guidelines

Job Requirements:

You’ll need the following (minimum qualifications):

• Minimum of year (6) year of experience in Manufacturing/Packaging or related field.

• Possesses a genuine desire to work in Manufacturing/Packaging truly likes working within all aspects of the manufacturing process.

• Sufficient mechanical aptitude to perform routine repairs, adjustments, and precision set-up procedures on machines/equipment. • Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs., climb step-up ladders, and perform constant motions of scooping, wiping, raising of arms, bending, and kneeling, if needed

• Ability to be exposed to nutraceutical raw materials and powders which may include allergen related items

• Ability to comprehend basic computer knowledge

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• High School education (HS Diploma or GED) preferred

• Experience in food/pharmaceutical processing operations, FDA regulated industry, or combination of experience, education, and training that provides the level of knowledge, skills, and experience needed to perform the job successfully (preferred

Hours: 11AM – 9PM

Overtime and Saturdays are required

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment.  Under some guidance, determines work methods and procedures.  Receives assignments orally or through written instructions, which may be accompanied by sketches or diagrams.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Performs maintenance duties, grounds and building maintenance and repair work.
  2. Assists with the installation of electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors, and other such equipment.
  3. Assists with the testing and maintenance of equipment using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges.
  4. Performs skilled maintenance activities including construction, welding, brazing, soldering, and plumbing.
  5. Utilizes a wide variety of hand and portable power tools.
  6. Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves, and motors.
  7. Conducts preventative maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions such as lubrication, cleaning, filter change and the like.
  8. Assists in the movement of furniture, materials and equipment as required.
  9. Reports needs for major repairs to Production Manager.
  10. Responsible for the security of the building under the supervision of the Safety Manager.
  11. Prepares accurate records for preventative maintenance.
  12. Assists with the troubleshooting of equipment at the component level.

 

 

Job Requirements:

Technical Competencies:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of related experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.
  • Skill in the care and use of tools and equipment used in the trades involved.
  • Ability to detect defects in equipment and to make proper repairs or adjustments.
  • Ability to interpret and work from pencil sketches and diagrams.

 

PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Frequent standing, walking, carrying, stooping and crouching.
  • Job involves standing most of the shift.
  • Lift up to 40 lbs.
