About the position:

Operate CNC HAAS Milling machine, CNC Lathe Okuma 10 & Okuma 10 SS and Okuma 12 with OSB 300 L Control (Okuma 10SS and 12 running with sub spindle live tooling). Our machines are 3-Axis, 4- Axis and 5-Axis, working with aluminum, plastic and stainless steel to make simple parts.

Job Duties include, but not limited to:

• Set up and tear down a work order on a CNC Machine.

• Responsible for in process inspection (utilizing calipers, micrometers)

• Responsible for making adjustments to offsets, and program as needed to maintain tolerances.

• Must be able to work off of blueprints

• Must be able to accurately use shop math in checking parts.

• Perform basic maintenance to the machines (clean and maintain, no mechanical repairs – weekly and monthly coolant maintenance)

• Maintain the machine within the scope of its ability.

• You will be expected to help around the shop with deburring, tapping, etc. as needed to keep parts moving

• Maintain all paperwork associated with producing the part and maintaining company records.

• Observe all safety policies and procedures and operate in a safe manner.

Job Requirements:

Required experience & qualifications:

• Machining Technology certification from a technical school, Machinist certification from a CNC manufacturer (such as OKUMA or HAAS) or equivalent.

• A minimum of two-years of hands on Machining Operating experience.

• Working knowledge of shop math (Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry).

• Must know how to use calipers and micrometer

The CNC Mill Operator is responsible for set-up, run, tear down 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Mills to fabricate aerospace parts per engineering specifications without supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Can demonstrate ability to set-up, run, tear down 3, 4, and 5 axis CNC Mills and dimensionally maintain quality in a production environment.   
  • Good Inspection Skills and Blueprint reading skills with ability to use all shop inspection tools. 
  • Basic Troubleshooting skills and must be able to recognize production problems such as out-of-tolerance Machining, poor finishes, damaged or worn cutters, and tooling. 
  • Ability to dial in a hole or Edge-Find and set Machine Offsets. 
  • Basic understanding of G & M code.  
  • Versatility across multiple machine centers is a plus. 
  • Meets job standard times with minimal supervision.
  •  Follows all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures. 
  • Follow schedule set by supervisor
  • Observe machine during operation

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Operate all CNC turning machines within a Primary subgroup to produce a variety of standard and non-standard parts to close tolerances and exacting finish specifications.
  • Refer to Shop Order and Engineering Drawings for dimensions, tolerances, finishes and number of parts to be machined.
  • Follow established procedures, verbal instructions, and information obtained from set-up sheets and layout sheets to operate machines.
  • Use micrometers, venires, optical comparator, microscope, and a variety of fixed and adjustable gauges to check work.
  • Produce parts for First Article inspection and check parts periodically; make adjustments to correct variances and maintain required tolerances and quality.
  • Diagnose and correct operating difficulties.
  • Work subject to process inspection; screen parts for established defect characteristics.
  • Maintain necessary records. Detect and report unusual conditions and special problems to proper supervisor.
  • Move materials, parts, and containers, as required, in performance of duties or as directed.
  • Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations and conform to OSHA regulations. Keep work area in clean orderly condition.

 

NOTES:

(1) Assigned work areas may change as production requirements warrant.

(2) CNC operators are responsible for producing quality parts; i.e. within specification.

As a CNC Machinist II you will need to be able to perform the following duties,

• Set Up CNC equipment with supervision as needed

• Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed

• Perform FP (First Part) and In-Process part inspections

• Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins, and other measuring equipment needed to complete work

Weekend CNC Machinist II Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience with CNC machining, aerospace blueprints/drawings and specifications OR equivalent 

• Skilled Trade certification from accredited college, community college, or vocational school preferred.

• Basic knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions •

Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals)

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry.

Job Responsibilities

  • Set Up CNC equipment with supervision as needed
  • Change cutting tools and adjust machine feeds and speeds as needed
  • Perform FP (First Part) and In-Process part inspections
  • Utilize measuring equipment used in the industry such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, gauge pins, and other measuring equipment needed to complete work
  • Utilize production work orders (Travelers) and associated documents to complete work
  • Ensure all required documentation is complete and correct • Use prescribed procedures to inspect part(s) and product(s) produced to assure compliance to specifications that will eliminate defects, scrap, rework, etc. Ensure part(s) meet all customer quality requirements per the company’s AS9100 Quality System.
  • Detect and report defective equipment , materials, and/or faulty operations to Shift Supervisor

 • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years’ experience with CNC machining, aerospace blueprints/drawings and specifications OR equivalent education/experience required

• Skilled Trade certification from accredited college, community college, or vocational school preferred. • Basic knowledge of CNC equipment capability and daily maintenance

• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions • Skill in performing mid-level math skills efficiently and accurately (including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fraction and decimals)

• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the aerospace industry.

• Skill in using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and other inspection gauges

• Skill in reading and interpreting documents such as work orders, drawings, internal and customer specifications, manuals, and safety regulations

More details are looking to hire a skilled CNC Machinist programmer to operate and maintain our CNC equipment. As a CNC programmer, you will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical blueprints, inputting the design specifications, adjusting the machine cutting paths, and performing quality checks on the final product. You may also be required to perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process.

To ensure success as a CNC Programmer, you should have extensive experience working in manufacturing, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work unsupervised. Ultimately, a top-class CNC programmer works quickly and efficiently, ensuring all products meet the specifications of the client.

CNC Programmer Responsibilities:

  • Reading and interpreting technical blueprints and design models.
  • Loading raw materials into the CNC machine.
  • Inputting the product design into the computer modeling software.
  • Choosing and loading the correct cutting tools for the job.
  • Adjusting machine settings to the desired product specifications.
  • Troubleshooting issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Completing quality control tests during the manufacturing stage and on the final product.
  • Cleaning and maintaining the machine.
  • Training new staff on machine operation procedures.
