Position Summary

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician is responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices according to company quality standards and specifications. This role supports clinicians and other team members in delivering exceptional products and patient outcomes.

Essential Functions

• Fabricate and repair orthotic and/or prosthetic devices in accordance with prescribed specifications and company standards.

• Perform ordering, receiving, and inventory management tasks as assigned.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

• Adhere to all safety policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.

• Perform additional related duties as assigned by the supervisor or lead technician.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge and hands-on skills in fabricating and repairing prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces).

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hand-eye coordination to safely and effectively use laboratory tools.

• Effective organizational, time management, and planning abilities.

• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills for working with team members.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Willingness to learn company policies, procedures, and fabrication standards.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and complete routine tasks under close supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Prior experience in orthotic and/or prosthetic fabrication preferred, but willing to train the right candidate.

• Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and processes used in an O&P laboratory setting.
