Position Overview

We are partnering with a well-established logistics and freight-forwarding operation in St. Paul, MN to hire a Forklift Operator / Dockworker – Warehouse Associate on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, handling, and movement of freight within a fast-paced warehouse and dock environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely load, unload, move, and stage freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling

  • Sort, handle, and secure freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions

  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine assignments and material needs

  • Operate hand and power tools as needed for blocking, bracing, and container loading

  • Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation to ensure on-time delivery

  • Utilize scanners, computers, email, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and paperwork

  • Work collaboratively in a team-based dock and warehouse environment

  • Follow all safety, security, and compliance procedures (including C-TPAT and TSA guidelines)

  • Maintain regular attendance and support core workplace values

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift and/or pallet jack operation experience (certification preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail with good follow-up skills

  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and general business documents

  • Comfortable using computers, scanners, and warehouse software systems

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude

  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools

  • Ability to manage routine tasks with accuracy and consistency


Preferred Experience

  • Experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics environments

  • Prior dockworker or warehouse experience

  • General maintenance or tool usage experience in an industrial setting


Education & Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent experience)

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States

  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

  • No sponsorship available


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 30 lbs individually and up to 70 lbs with team assistance

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Ability to work around moving equipment and in varying warehouse temperatures

  • Comfortable working in a loud, active warehouse environment

Day Shift: 6:00 am – 4:00 pm, with possible/mandatory OT

Second Shift – 3:30 – Midnight, with possible/mandatory OT

 

Pay: 

$30/hr to Start and 1st  Shift – Paid weekly!

Role Accountabilities 

  • Perform visual inspections on all product lines. 
  • Perform production line acceptance testing including insulation tests and function tests. 
  • Ability to work from instructions, drawings, and procedures. 
  • Troubleshoot and provide results in a timely fashion (strong troubleshooting skills). 
  • Record test results and complete test reports/paperwork per instructions/procedures.
  • Report issues found on failed units.
  • Perform some mechanical assembly.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis, and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to handle large gage cables.
  • Good communication skills and ability to function in a team environment with limited supervision.
  • Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.
  • Outstanding work ethics and commitment to organizational success.
  • Able to follow and comply with Company Safety Standards.

Job Requirements:

Client expects:

  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in the electro/mechanical manufacturing industry.
  • Two-year technical degree in Applied Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Equivalent college hours in engineering or comparable industry experience.
  • Must have experience testing energized high voltage equipment 480v+
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics.
  • Experience in power electronics.
  • Experience in operating standard test equipment including DMMs, Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers, Isolation Testers, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001

Pay: $19.00 – 22.80

Hours: 

1st shift : 5am – 1:30pm
2nd shift: 1:30pm – 10pm 
Must be able to work up to 12 hours days.
Schedule: Monday to Friday and some Saturdays

Duties:
•    Reading and comprehending instructions and following established procedures
•    Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process
•    Taking precision measurements to ensure perfect fit of components
