Description: Operates machine/machines to hot compression mold parts of specific size and shape from blended raw materials.  Must be able to operate/run all equipment while ensuring quality, safety and production standards are accomplished.

Shift: 

• 3rd:  11:00pm – 7:00am

Pay: $18.41/hr to $21.07/hr depending on department, experience and shift

Duties: 

• Adheres to all safety regulations and maintains a clean work environment.
• Reads routing card to verify weight, material and press cycle.
• General operation of press in accordance with Work Instructions.
• Records production via Hour by Hour Charts and ICARE Forms.
• Comply with all documentation of quality inspection sheets, ICARE, etc.
• Help ensure the cleanliness and organization of entire job area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

• Blueprint reading experience a plus 
• Prior manufacturing - 6 to 12 months
• Able to operate/run all equipment, while ensuring quality, safety and production standards are accomplished
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Chemical Plating Operator to join our team. This role is responsible for coating ferrous and non-ferrous parts and raw materials with various chemical solutions to maintain specified tolerances. The position involves chemical preparation, plating, and finishing processes, as well as operating and maintaining plating equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify materials and processes from job orders or written instructions.

• Perform cleaning, plating, drying, baking, chromate treating, and lubricating of products.

• Determine process time and sequence; set up applicable equipment accordingly.

• Maintain and adjust chemical baths (plating, lubrication, cleaning) to proper solution mixes; prepare new solutions as required.

• Operate auxiliary equipment such as forklift, overhead crane, parts washer, tumble barrel, salt cleaner, and centrifugal dryer.

• Keep accurate production records including baking time, solution analysis, and work logs.

• Perform daily equipment and work area maintenance; assist with minor repairs as needed.

• Inspect and verify plating requirements using electronic gages; calibrate gages for accuracy.

• Participate actively in team problem-solving, quality improvements, and process efficiency initiatives.

• Comply with environmental, health, and safety requirements, including proper handling of department waste streams.

Qualifications:

• Previous plating, chemical processing, or manufacturing experience preferred (training available).

• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and safety procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.

• Ability to operate industrial equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes (certification a plus).

• Basic record-keeping and communication skills.
