Job Opening: CWI
Description
-The candidate for this position will have a good understanding of common manual and semi-automatic
welding processes (GTAW, SAW, GMAW, & FCAW) to start.
-Knowledge with weld discontinuities. For example slag, porosity, incomplete fusion and cracks. (just to name a few)
-Knowledge of welding test positions for both plate and pipe 1G, 2G, 3G and 6G etc.
– Knowledge on how to read and measure with a standard inch ruler.
-Good people skills/ Positive attitude. The candidate will be testing welders and welders come in from all walks of life.
-Good communication skills. It is important the candidate can communicate with employees and welders to insure the correct test is given.
–Code Books AWS D1.1 ,ASME and API 1104 (This will not disqualify the candidate if they are not familiar with the codes but will be a plus.)
This position does not require a CWI, but if you just got a CWI and you are interested in the position please apply. Also QC work at a plant or shop is not required, welders are acceptable as long as the criteria is met.
The hours will be Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm with a 30min lunch (40hr work week)
