Tool Makers are needed for off-shift direct hire openings for one of our manufacturing clients in Bluffton, OH.

Duties of a Tool Maker:
- Responsible for the repair to tools and dies and the set-up and tears down of production jobs.
- Insures operating parameters are at optimum levels by making the necessary adjustments within engineering specified operating boundaries.
- Familiar with and uphold safety
- Assures appropriate lockout/tag-out procedures are followed when necessary
- Coordinates efforts with supervisors, engineers, production, and maintenance employees on tool and die related issues
- Set up and adjust dies while adhering to quality procedures and work instruction.
- Assist in developing and implementing process controls of tooling and die equipment
- Assures adjustments of dies and fixtures are maintained to improve production quality and efficiencies.
- Change and rebuild dies and equipment, in a timely manner.
- Basic understanding of Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards
- Be self-directed and encourage continuous improvement through involvement and input
- Associates Degree in a related technical field or High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years manufacturing experience with journeymen card
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize
- Excellent problem solving skills such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Able to train and deliver information to various work groups
- Excellent computer skills and ability to learn various computer programs
- Understanding and strong knowledge of robotic systems, work instructions, and product layout
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced in employee relations, team skills, and has the ability to interface directly with the management, production and other skilled trade employees to resolve issues
- Detail oriented with excellent follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and to work as a team member
- Must pass an unbiased off site test.
- Ability to complete visual quality inspections
- Ability to read and follow written work instructions and safety guidelines
- Maintain a good attendance record
