Job Opening: Shipper/Receiver 1st shift 50th

SUMMARY The Shipping/Receiving position follows work instructions and SOP’s. This position is responsible for all warehouse activities related to the efficient, effective and error free loading and unloading of trucks and related products, goods, and supplies. The position is also responsible for the orderly storage and maintenance of warehouse, coolers, equipment and overall general housekeeping of warehouse, docks, and outside dock areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job, an individual must be able to perform and coordinate the workflow for the following: • The ability to operate heavy machinery (1 -year minimum experience with sit-down forklift and electric pallet jack) • The ability to work as part of a team • Detail orientated unloading / loading trailers • Ensure that all outgoing, finished product and pallets are clean and free from contamination to ensure the highest food quality and food safety • Good communication skills • Storing materials in an orderly manner in appropriate/designated storage locations. Consolidation of materialsto save space • Responsible for upkeep of the warehouse, including cleaning and general housekeeping duties • Ensure proper functioning of all warehouse tools and equipment. Perform daily safety inspections on pallet jacks and forklifts • Perform all duties and tasks related to maintaining a safe work environment • Perform all duties and tasks related to maintaining safe, quality product • Perform all other tasks as requested by management • Responsible for carrying out food safety and quality duties and following the SQF policies/procedures as it relates to their job duties • Continuously check for and remove damaged goods to ensure that only quality products are being shipped to customers and ensure proper disposal of damaged goods • Ability to work in refrigerated and non-refrigerated environment with temperatures variations from 20-85 degrees Fahrenheit • Will report any food safety and quality issues/concerns to their manager and/or quality team • Participate in all training sessions, including those related to safety and complex process • Report any problemsto Plant Manager • Other duties may be assigned and subject to change in accordance with business needs

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and procedure manuals.
