Job Opening: Sanitation Technician

Do you have experience in Sanitation?
If so our team is seeking a Sanitation employee in the City of Torrance for a well known Food Manufacturing company.
2nd and 3rd shift available!
$19.75 – $20.25/hr
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Tear down, use chemicals to clean and sanitize, and reassemble equipment, including but not limited to food processing equipment (industrial pumps, automated filling equipment, etc), process piping, floors, and walls
- Comply with applicable good manufacturing (GMP), safety, and quality assurance practices. Read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) while conforming to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
- Handle and use hazardous chemicals, including acids, chlorines, and caustics
- Perform equipment and tool inspections
- Work from heights utilizing ladders and aerial lifting equipment
- Operate industrial equipment such as floor scrubbers, scissor lifts, and pressure washers
- Maintain accurate and legible documentation
- Perform production, maintenance, light mechanical, and maintenance duties as assigned
- Maintain the master sanitation schedule
- Ensure food safety through HACCP, allergen risk management and preventio
Experience Requirements:
Previous experience in a sanitation role or food/beverage processing/production environment strongly preferred. Mechanical experience strongly preferred.
- A solid understanding of FDA’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules and regulations.
- Understanding AIB’s and/or SQF’s food plant inspection expectations.
- General knowledge of HACCP and Allergen Risk Management.
- Solid understanding of SDS, PPE and Chemical Hazards.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays
- Must be available for overtime when needed.
