Job Summary:

This is a full-time position focused on setup and operation of 3-axis CNC lathes for high-precision aerospace components. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and capable of holding tight tolerances in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 3-axis CNC lathes for production of aerospace parts
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
• Perform first article inspections and in-process quality checks
• Hold tight tolerances of ±0.0005" (five tenths)
• Select and install proper tooling, fixtures, and work holding devices
• Make offset adjustments and program edits at the machine as needed
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and quality standards

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3–5 years of recent CNC setup experience on 3-axis lathes
• Strong aerospace manufacturing background (highly preferred)
• Proven ability to consistently hold ±0.0005" tolerances
• Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints and GD&T

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.  Under supervision, sets up and operates different types of equipment used to weld metal cabinets and other related products. 

2.  Plans details of working procedure, tools, and material requirements.

3.  Welds sheet metal using different welding positions (flat, overhead, vertical, etc.).  

4.  Cleans and prepares surfaces (including sanding) to be welded.  

5.  Uses cutting torch equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.

6.  Builds up worn or defective surfaces.

7.  Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.

8.  Works from blueprint, engineering specifications and production schedules. 

9.  Upon completion of welding operations, assists other areas as needed.

Technical Competencies:

•  High school or equivalent education preferred.

•  1+ year of MIG Welding experience. 

•  Production welding with sheet metal experience preferred.

•  Must demonstrate the capability of welding sheet metal products by passing welding test.  

•  Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints.

•  Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demands dictates.

Job Requirements:

• Associate degree in Electronics (or equivalent technical/vocational training), or 1–3 years of calibration experience, or a combination of both
• Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 17025 standards is a plus

Roles and Responsibilities

• Machine Calibration & Precision: Ensuring that fabrication equipment, such as hydraulic shears and rollers, produces parts to exact blueprint specifications.
• Preventive Maintenance (PM) Cycles: Executing scheduled cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of belts, gears, and motors to prevent unplanned downtime in high-volume production, creating, or modifying parts and structures using welding equipment (MIG/TIG), drills, and shears.
• System Diagnostics: Troubleshooting complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within manufacturing units to identify and fix failures quickly, using diagnostic tools like multimetersand calipers to perform root cause analysis..
• Component Fabrication: Utilizing shop tools like drill presses and grinders to manufacture or rework replacement parts for machines.
• Tooling Upkeep: Maintaining and sharpening specialized tools, including blades for shears and dies for presses, to ensure clean cuts and proper forming. 

Key Skills and Tools

• Tools: Precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators), power tools, and metalworking tools (drill press, grinder).
• Automation: Basic understanding of PLCs for troubleshooting controller parameters.
