CNC Lathe Operator

Position Summary

The CNC Lathe Operator is responsible for producing precision parts that meet customer specifications. This role involves machine operation, basic maintenance, first-piece inspection, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. Operators are expected to follow standard operating procedures and work closely with lead operators, supervisors, and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Machine Maintenance

  • Check fluid levels as indicated on the maintenance check sheet at your station
  • Complete maintenance logs as required
  • Ensure machine readiness before operation

2. First Piece Setup and Inspection

  • Power up machine (if necessary)
  • Verify fluid levels per instructions
  • Confirm correct program with lead operator or supervisor
  • Inspect all tooling and address concerns with supervision
  • Run first piece
  • Dimensional inspection of first part per instructions
  • Submit first part to Quality Control for approval
  • Communicate any required changes to lead operator or supervisor

3. Production Run

  • Confirm required production quantity with supervisor
  • Run approved job for the full shift or until relieved by next shift
  • Maintain consistent quality throughout the run

4. Housekeeping & Organization

  • Keep work area free of trash and debris
  • Mop area as needed
  • Wipe down machine as required

5. Additional Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervision
  • Follow applicable job descriptions when performing additional duties

6. Growth & Development

  • Complete matrix training with the goal of advancement into a Lead Operator position

Qualifications

  • CNC Lathe experience preferred (training considered based on skill level)
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions
  • Understanding of basic measurement and dimensional inspection
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Willingness to work any shift

Job Requirements:

Must have 1 year CNC Lathe or Mill experience

Local Company, a leading automotive manufacturing company in Port Huron, MI, is seeking a reliable and motivated Material Handler to join our 2nd shift team. This position plays a key role in supporting production by ensuring workstations are properly supplied and finished goods are handled correctly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply all workstations with the required materials to support production
  • Deliver empty containers needed for finished product
  • Move finished product to designated areas and ensure correct labeling
  • Empty trash and dumpsters into the compactor as needed
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Prior material handling or manufacturing experience preferred
