Responsibilities

• Wire instruments, sensors, and electrical components
• Perform mechanical assembly of production equipment
• Assemble hydraulic systems and piping, including stainless steel tubing and Swagelok fittings
• Build systems from P&IDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings
• Test, troubleshoot, and maintain production equipment
• Assist with assembly and testing of experimental hardware
• Maintain detailed documentation, including lab notes/red-line drawings
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and technicians

Qualifications

Fabrication Technician

Pay: $20.00-$24.00/hour

Responsibilities:

• Perform basic shaping processes on moderately difficult optical components.
• Execute beveling operations, including polished, double, and off-angle asymmetric bevels.
• Perform blocking processes, including pitch button blocking, Norland transfer, steep singles, cold blocking, contacting, and alignment.
• Conduct grinding operations such as steep radius, cylinder, tight wedge, and continuous grinding.
• Perform polishing using spindle, CP, double-side, and CNC polishing methods.
• Pour, cut, and groove pitch laps.
• Read and interpret fabrication prints, drawings, and specifications.
• Perform measurements and inspections using Zygo equipment, microscopes, stereoscopes, fiber lights, and surface quality inspection tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
