We are seeking a Team Leader / Shipping Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient shipment of products to customers across North America, while complying with all relevant export legal documentation and international transportation guidelines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of shipping procedures, a keen attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Principal Duties:

Generate and Analyze Export Documentation: Create and analyze material/product exportation documentation, ensuring compliance with established guidelines, international transportation laws, and destination-specific requirements.

Transaction Processing: Perform required transactions for each shipment, providing documentation backup as needed, and ensuring timely processing and entry in the shipping system.

Monitor Compliance: Ensure all shipments adhere to established guidelines and policies, keeping up-to-date with changes in regulations and laws related to exportation.

Coordinate Outbound Freight: Oversee the shipping of outbound freight with multiple carriers, including handling overnight shipments.

Exception Shipping Quoting: Responsible for quoting on exception shipping requests and coordinating necessary adjustments.

Truck Setup Coordination: Coordinate the setup of trucks for shipments, including the creation of Bill of Lading and other required documents for shipping finished goods.

Shipment Tracking and Coordination: Track shipments and work closely with customer service, freight companies, and production managers to resolve any issues or delays.

Document Filing: Maintain organized filing of shipping documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements.

Document Preparation: Prepare, process, and distribute documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, route sheets, and field returns.

Shipping Procedures: Ship outgoing materials by preparing appropriate documents and determining the best delivery methods based on knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

Maintain Carrier Logs: Keep accurate logs of all carrier shipments and related data.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support the shipping and logistics team.

Education: Associate’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred).

Experience: At least 2 years of industry-related experience, with a focus on exporting materials/products (preferred).

Freight Carrier Knowledge: Strong understanding of freight carriers from an operational or commercial perspective.

Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and related software, with a working knowledge of database operations and internet research.

Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to positively interact with both internal and external customers.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Office Equipment: Familiarity with office equipment and the proper use of all related machines.

- Fully competent to spot weld.
- Operator places two pieces of metal into a machine and the machine heats the metal to spot weld. Machine has dials to control the heat, not much independent judgment needed to complete the task.
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance with regard to responsibilities
- Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations
