Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In the role of a Foundry/Plating, you will:

• Pack sand molds and pour molten metals into sand molds
• Ability to apply mold coating, ramming/packing sand molds, closing, furnace operations, and shakeout
• Measure out correct amounts of materials for furnace and loads charge
• Skim slag from surface of molten metal
• Clean castings and patterns
• Remove gates, sprues and other projections from castings
• Break up sand molds and slag
• Possess or ability to acquire and maintain knowledge to correctly set up gating and risers for various sand molds. ie: rotational, thermoform, and pattern castings
• Visually be able to inspect procedures and determine any issues and defects
• Prepping, plating, and cleaning of parts
• Set up, operate, or tend plating or coating machines to coat metal or plastic products with chromium, zinc, copper, cadmium, nickel, or other metal to protect or decorate surfaces. Includes electrolytic processes.
• Notify Lead and correct any defects as permissible, if possible according to specifications
• Work with other departments to notify of processes that did not turn out correct and to stop any future jobs from being affected
• Follow oral and written instructions and/or direction given by supervisors to complete assigned work projects
• Ability to proactively troubleshoot problems
• Work as a team within department and with other departments and Leads
• Ensure work area is clean and safe

Overview:

The Coating Technician works in various operational roles throughout the custom plant including thermoclean, pre-bake and final bake, bullet nosing, blasting operations, priming, topcoat and other roles designated by the Shift Foreman. 

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Perform thermoclean, Bake, blasting, coating and other liquid and powder coating operations per  Standard Operating Procedures.
  2. Perform all assignments, duties and tasks in a safe manner while following standard operating procedures.
  3. Develop, monitor, and maintain critical control points to ensure excellent process and product quality.
  4. Set up and dial in equipment accordingly per work order.
  5. Communicate and coordinate all pertinent information to appropriate Foreman/Supervisor/ Manager to ensure effective and safe operations.
  6. Performing quality checks throughout production runs.
  7. Inform the Foreman/Supervisor/ Manager or his designee of any interruptions or irregularities in the production line.
  8. Follow all Company HSE, QMS policies and procedures and report to the appropriate personnel of any violations of these policies or procedures.
  9. Record and QMS Reports or daily production reports as instructed by Shift Foreman and SOP.
  10. Perform other various job duties that may be required by the Foreman/Supervisor/ Manager or their designees.
  11. Maintain housekeeping throughout work station and facility.

  • Machine parts to specifications using tools such as lathes and milling machines
  • Read blueprints, drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work
  • Perform dimensional layout on all machined parts to confirm conformity to prints and other routing instructions. Ensure applicable documentation is complete ie sign off on job card, SIS (Source Inspections Sheets) etc., and computer entry

POSITION OVERVIEW:

As a Designer, you will play a key role in conceptualizing, designing, and optimizing modular components and systems for manufacturing processes. These system designs include the appropriate structural, mechanical, electrical, and controls sub-assemblies.  Design outputs are communicated through 3D/CAD drawings for the purchase of incorporated components and manufacture of the com

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and develop innovative modular components and systems for manufacturing processes, considering factors such as functionality, efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
  • Utilize CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Revit, AutoCAD) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings of modular components, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to analyze design requirements, evaluate design feasibility, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Conduct thorough research on materials, manufacturing techniques, and industry trends to inform the design process and enhance the performance of modular solutions.
  • Generate comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, bill of materials (BOM), and assembly instructions, to support the manufacturing and assembly of modular components.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to production teams during the manufacturing, assembly, and installation of modular components, resolving design-related issues as needed.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and best practices in modular manufacturing, continuously seeking opportunities to innovate and improve our modular solutions.
  • Interprets piping and instrument diagrams, site layouts, equipment layouts, piping plan drawings, process flow diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and GA drawings with respect to packaged equipment system designs.
  • Creates 3D models and layouts including mating surfaces, finding correct library parts, performing extrusions, creating assemblies, exploded view diagrams with BOM’s.

Job Requirements:

 

JOB SKILLS:

 

  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit) and other relevant design tools.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly techniques, with a focus on modular construction methods.
  • Experience with weldments, pipe routing, and designing skids and piping
  • Experience in package/plant designs and layouts with broad knowledge of technical applications, maintenance, operation, and clearance constraints of structural, mechanical, controls, and electrical equipment systems
  • Knowledgeable of codes such as NEC, IEC, ASME, AISC, AWS, UMC, OSHA, and building codes etc.

 

EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Associate degree in a technical discipline or graphics design with proven experience (3+ years) in modular design, manufacturing, or related roles
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field
