Maintenance Technician
Location: Oklahoma City
Shift: Monday – Friday 7am – 5pm
Pay: $20-$23 based on experience
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team at a tire retread manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with industrial machinery, preventive maintenance programs, and mechanical and electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on retread production equipment and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
- Inspect machinery and identify potential issues before failures occur.
- Repair conveyors, motors, pumps, compressors, curing chambers, and other plant equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete work orders.
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and facility improvement projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop and work area.
- Work collaboratively with production personnel to maximize equipment performance.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Basic electrical knowledge, including motors, controls, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
- Experience in tire manufacturing, retread operations, or heavy industrial environments.
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- PLC troubleshooting experience.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in industrial environments for extended periods.
- Ability to work around moving machinery, heat, noise, and rubber-processing equipment.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
