The Sewage Pipeline Worker performs skilled manual labor to install, maintain, repair, and replace municipal and industrial wastewater collection systems. This role involves working around chemical and biological hazards, operating specialized tools, and ensuring compliance with environmental safety regulations to protect the public water supply.
Key Responsibilities
- Trenching & Shoring: Excavate trenches, lay bedding materials, and install shoring or trench boxes to prevent cave-ins.
- Pipe Installation: Align and connect concrete, PVC, clay, and ductile iron sewer pipes using gaskets, couplings, and solvent welding.
- System Testing: Assist in performing hydrostatic, low-pressure air, and deflection testing to ensure pipeline structural integrity and watertight joints.
