Human Resources Coordinator / Recruiter
Location: Commerce, CA
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $30.00 – $34.00 per hour
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Coordinator / Recruiter to support daily HR operations, employee relations, recruitment, compliance, payroll administration, and employee engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in human resources, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Monitor and track employee attendance point systems.
- Prepare security badges for employees working in restricted areas.
- Generate attendance disciplinary documentation and submit to supervisors for review.
- Create and distribute various management reports.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to employee inquiries and requests.
- Conduct new hire orientations in collaboration with the HR Generalist.
- Complete Forms I-9, verify documentation, and maintain I-9 files.
- Maintain employee records and file documents appropriately.
- Prepare and assist with employee correspondence as needed.
- Assist with processing employee termination documentation.
- Independently coordinate and manage full-cycle recruitment, including:
- Requisition creation
- Job postings
- Candidate screening
- Interview scheduling and coordination
- Offer administration
- Conduct regular audits of employee records to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Assist with workplace investigations.
- Prepare new hire personnel files.
- Assist with weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing through ADP.
- Support the HR Director and HR team with special projects.
- Complete wage verification’s upon request.
- Coordinate site-wide events, including benefits fairs, volunteer activities, and employee appreciation events.
- Respond to unemployment claims and employment verification requests.
- Assist with preparation, reconciliation, and distribution of W-2s and other payroll reports.
- Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous Human Resources experience required.
- Experience with full-cycle recruiting and on-boarding.
- Knowledge of I-9 compliance, employee record keeping, and HR best practices.
- Experience with ADP payroll systems preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
