Maintenance Mechanic III – 12-Hour Night Shift

Location: Chanhassen, MN
Pay: $28.75 – $42.11 per hour ($59,800 – $87,588 annually)
Shift: Front Half Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and every other Thursday
Shift Differential: Additional $2.00 per hour for night shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic III to support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and performing both mechanical and electrical repairs on a variety of production machinery.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with complex manufacturing equipment and possess strong troubleshooting abilities across mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues related to equipment failures.
• Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment including die cutters, web and sheet-fed presses, inserting machines, folders, conveyor systems, bindery equipment, and related machinery.
• Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer specifications to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and testing equipment to complete repairs.
• Repair or fabricate replacement parts using welding equipment and machine shop tools such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and surface grinders.
• Identify root causes of equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to improve reliability.
• Support production teams by responding quickly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment while following all company safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, testing, and maintaining complex manufacturing equipment.
• Advanced knowledge of machine controls and equipment systems.
• Ability to diagnose and distinguish mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic failures.
• Experience making precise equipment adjustments involving alignment, parallelism, and concentricity.
• Ability to measure and interpret air and fluid pressure and flow readings.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
• Knowledge of hydraulic pumps, motors, clamping devices, electric drives, and positioning systems.
• Experience fabricating or assembling replacement parts and custom components.
• Strong understanding of geometry, shop mathematics, measurements, tolerances, clearances, pressure, flow, and related mechanical calculations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
