Roles and Responsibilities
- Machine Calibration & Precision: Ensuring that fabrication equipment, such as hydraulic shears and rollers, produces parts to exact blueprint specifications.
- Preventive Maintenance (PM) Cycles: Executing scheduled cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of belts, gears, and motors to prevent unplanned downtime in high-volume production
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshooting complex electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems within manufacturing units to identify and fix failures quickly,
Using diagnostic tools like multimeters and calipers to perform root cause analysis on equipment failures.
- Component Fabrication: Utilizing shop tools like drill presses and grinders to manufacture or rework replacement parts for machines.
- Tooling upkeep: Maintaining and sharpening specialized tools, including blades for shears and dies for presses.
Key Skills and Tools
- Tools: Precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators), power tools, and metalworking tools
- Automation: Basic understanding of PLCs for troubleshooting controller parameters.
- Fluids: Advanced knowledge of fluid mechanics, including both hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in reading complicated schematics, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
Requirements and Skills
2 to 5 years of experience in a metalworking or industrial setting
