Description
Manual TIG Welder (Stainless Steel)
Perform TIG (GTAW) welding on stainless steel components ranging from 16-gauge to 1/4” thickness. Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, including torches, gas flow, and filler materials. Grind, polish, and finish welds to meet sanitary and aesthetic standards. Fit, align, and tack components prior to final welds.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and weld symbols to ensure accurate fabrication. Inspect welds, identify defects, and complete repairs as needed while maintaining high-quality standards with minimal supervision. Support team members, including mentoring less experienced welders.
Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and process standards, and maintain a clean, organized workspace. Ability to identify tubing and fittings per specifications and qualify per ASME Section IX requirements is preferred.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of TIG welding experience (stainless steel required)
- Strong knowledge of stainless welding techniques (e.g., back purging, heat control)
- Ability to read technical drawings and weld symbols
- Experience with various joint types (butt, lap, corner)
- Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination
Pay: $24–26/hour
