Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Service Manager to help lead and support our service team. This role is responsible for overseeing field technicians, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and managing both preventive and corrective maintenance operations. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent problem-solving skills and a solid technical background in mechanical, automotive, hydraulic, and/or equipment service environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, schedule, and support field service technicians
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment
- Manage daily field operations to ensure timely and efficient service
- Provide diagnostic support and troubleshooting guidance to technicians
- Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with company standards
- Coordinate service calls, repairs, and emergency response needs
- Monitor performance, productivity, and quality of service work
- Train and mentor team members to improve skills and efficiency
- Communicate with internal departments and customers regarding service updates
- Maintain service records, reports, and documentation
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and service vehicles
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in equipment repair and maintenance
- Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems (preferred)
- Proven experience in a leadership or supervisory role
- Ability to troubleshoot and support diagnostic processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
