Job Opening: R&D Lab Tech
Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Prepare lab batches as directed by R&D Management. Perform additional tasks related to lab batch testing, raw material testing and routine maintenance of lab equipment.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make daily batches as assigned by a R&D Management
- Make large scale batches in the lab as well as on the compounding floor.
- Follow R&D Chemist’s instructions closely. Record and communicate any observations clearly.
- Maintain housekeeping in conformance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) standards.
- Adjust batches and take specifications as instructed by the R&D Chemist.
- Generate necessary forms and labels to facilitate sample submission to external customers.
- Calibrate and perform regular maintenance on lab equipment as per R&D procedures.
- Test and release raw material samples for use in lab batches.
- Assist lab personnel in daily activities and tasks.
PHYSICAL / EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/Some College credit with emphasis on Science
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to lift
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in R&D formulating lab environment
- Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate clearly with others.
- Must be punctual (on time).
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
- If needed, must be able to work until a project is completed.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining priority of assignments.
- Attention to detail while completing tasks, recording data, and reporting information.
- Must be able to maintain a clean and sanitary work area.
