Production Control Coordinator
How You’ll Make an Impact
As a Production Control Coordinator you will have the responsibility of planning, scheduling, tracking and expediting product through the Order Fulfillment cycle. The Production Control Coordinator’s responsibility begins with the receipt of the customer purchase order or contract, through the manufacturing cycle, shipment, and/or stock. This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining inventory levels in support of company policy and objectives. This position reports to the Manufacturing Manager.
What you’ll be doing as a Production Control Coordinator:
- Contract Review
- Reviews and validates delivery dates; identifies options, informs management and takes appropriate action if delivery dates cannot be achieved.
- Reviews and prepares planning; gains approval for planning as required.
- Pulls approved planning template to job; releases jobs per schedule requirements.
- Production Scheduling
- Creates and manages production schedules.
- Reviews dispatch reports on a periodic basis; identifies options, reports concerns to management and takes appropriate action.
- Backlog Management
- Prepares rolling 3-month shipment analysis and reports to management monthly, or as requested by management.
- Tracks daily, weekly and monthly shipping performance against the rolling 3-month plan; makes recommendations, reports concerns to management and takes appropriate action.
- Outside Processing Management
- Monitors OSP deliveries and receipts in support of production schedules.
- Obtains quotes for price and delivery.
- Inventory Management
- Sets minimum and maximum inventory levels in support of company policy and objectives.
- Calculates EOQ’s and establishes job lot sizes accordingly.
- Purchases materials to support EOQ, schedule and inventory level objectives.
- Obtains quotes for price and delivery for raw materials and hardware.
- Monitors Manufacturing Schedule Performance. Tracks late job operations; identifies options, reports to management and takes appropriate action.
- Reviews machine loading on a periodic basis. Identifies opportunities and concerns, reports to management and takes appropriate action.
Minimum Requirements:
- Working knowledge of MRP systems and related processes.
- Technical understanding and ability to read industry blueprints and specifications.
- General knowledge of machining concepts and methods.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
- B.S. in business or engineering or equivalent combination of work experience, education and certification.
Preferred Requirements:
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Minimum 3 years related industry experience
