Shipper/Receiver
This position requires an updated resume. Job duties include ensuring that received goods are accurate, orders are processed correctly, packed safely and shipped in a timely and cost effective manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Checks orders for accuracy and conducts required physical inventory counts in conjunction with customer orders prior to shipment.
- Ensures that items are properly packed and labeled including but not limited to samples, literature, and miscellaneous items for shipment.
- Prepares, checks and ships customer orders and ensures that all transactions are recorded in company database.
- Reports and replaces any defective item prior to packing.
- Prepares the daily orders for shipment and completes necessary shipping documentation and directs all outgoing FedEx, UPS, USPS, and International Shipping.
- Checks, logs, and receives incoming materials and forwards incoming raw materials for testing and approval.
- Oversees the loading and unloading of shipments.
- Maintains receiving logs, shipping documents and related records as well as the location of stored goods.
- Maintains mail operations equipment.
- Monitors office supplies and prepares bulk orders as directed.
- Cross-trains on other production positions as time allows.
- Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
- Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality system.
- Initiates, recommends, or provides solutions through designated channels.
- Participates in year-end and general inventory procedures and cycle counts.
- Maintains a neat, orderly and safe work area.
- Performs other related duties as required, requested or assigned.

The work environment and physical requirement are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- This position works in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation; stand for long periods; push, pull and load heavy items weighing up to 75 pounds onto trucks, demonstrate safe lifting protocols, leverage assistive equipment for heavier items and use hand to finger dexterity for using computer and manipulation of equipment.
- Must be able to operate and use all necessary equipment.
- Performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. The standard work day schedule is set by the Plant Manager.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2+ years’ warehouse and/or shipping experience preferred.
- Knowledge and demonstration of OSHA rules for warehouse related work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook as well as vendor shipping software.
- Valid forklift operator’s license.
