Quality Control Technician Job Duties:

• This position is responsible for assisting the QC group to complete necessary activities to conduct sampling and test cottonseed for quality standards in raw and processed forms.
• Key emphasis will be placed on performing tests which may include but not limited to: Sampling, Moisture, Temperature, Free Fatty Acid, Genetic Purity, Visual Mechanical Damage, Adventitious Presence, Seed Count, pH, Seed Appearance, Warm and Cool Germinations, Data Verification and DNA testing.
• Responsible for maintaining clean work area.

Job Requirements:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tests for extended time periods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).

• Majority of testing requires standing at workstations.

• Individuals will work primarily in an indoor lab environment for scheduled shift, but some positions may on occasion work in warehouse setting to perform warehouse duties as needed and utilize industrial sampling equipment.

Primary Responsibilities of Production Associates:

• Participate in day to day seed count, bagging and treating operation in plant
• Operate and manage automatic seed sampling equipment to pull accurate samples from each lot of seed as directed.
• Assist in seed counts for packaging seed and obtaining QA samples.
• Enter plant monitoring data for the treating and packaging area as directed.
• Monitor packaging appearance. (printing on bags, printing of placards, bar coding, wrapping, etc.)
• Monitor the treatment process for application accuracy.
• General repairs of bag placers, baggers, treater and palletizer during the season and during the shut down periods.
• Participate in cleanup of treating and bagging area for all variety changes.
• During the carryover season assist management in sorting and doing inventory counts on carryover and Assist with the carryover blending process by seed count.
• Assist in all inventory counts of chemical and bags.
• Meet the safety requirements for the seed count, bagging, and treatment areas of the plant.
