As a Warehouse & Quality Control Operator you are responsible for the daily shipping/receiving of Product. Warehouse/QC employees are also responsible for Quality checks before product is packed for shipment. These products must meet customer specifications before shipment can be communicated with the Shipping Coordinator.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Read and interpret process instructions and/or job specifications to determine appropriate specifications required by specific customer.

 Inspects setup parts to ensure accuracy of machine operation and compliance with quality requirements.

 Receive documents from incoming shipments and deliver them to Account Payable

 Knowledge of safe forklift operation with certification

 Knowledge of Pallet Jack operation both manual and electric

 Assist in training new employees

 Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must demonstrate ability to follow instructions.

Must demonstrate ability to safely setup, troubleshoot, and operate all equipment.

Must demonstrate ability to communicate status to other employees (typically during shift change) and supervisor.

Must demonstrate ability to follow safety instructions and procedures.

Must demonstrate ability to meet production/efficiency standards for all equipment.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have the use of both arms and legs
  • Must be able to work twelve (12) hour shifts for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull items up to fifty (50) pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to perform all duties pertaining to the job.
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time (typically a full shift).
  • Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (typically safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection).

Saturn Petcare is a German Company. Terre Haute is home to the first in the United States.

This facility operates on 8 hour shifts, 5 days a week. (occasional overtime)

  • 1st shift is 6:45am-3:15pm Mon-Fri $16/hour

  • 2nd shift is 2:45pm-11:15pm Mon-Fri $17/hour

  • 3rd shift is 10:45pm-7:15am Sun-Thur $17/hour

  • Weekend Sanitation Fri-Sun 12 hr shifts $18/hour

 Packaging Operator: The packaging operator is responsible for the packaging production equipment to run efficiently by setting up, operating, and adjusting the equipment to maximize production while maintaining the product quality.  The packaging operator sets up the equipment to maximize performance, performs routine maintenance, and reports all information requested pertaining to safety, quality, and productivity. 

  • Experience working around packaging and conveying systems is a plus

Kitchen/Machine Operator: The Machine Operator is responsible for operating the kitchen equipment efficiently by setting up, operating, and adjusting the kitchen equipment to maximize production while maintaining the product quality.  The Machine Operator is also responsible for analyzing the equipment’s performance, performing routine maintenance, and to report all information requested pertaining to safety, quality, and productivity.

General Labor Helper Job Summary: Associates would start by helping out in the assortment area. In This department your responsibilities would be sorting through semi-finished product and inspecting and removing any product that does not meet Saturn's finished product quality standards. The Assortment personnel then takes the sorted raw materials and places them into finished variety packs. 

Sanitation/Industrial Cleaner: The Sanitation Employee is responsible for the cleanliness of the facility and its equipment. Some operations of the equipment will be needed as it will need to be moved to clean all areas. The sanitation Employee will need to know all about the chemicals used and the hazards that go along with those chemicals before using. All GMP and other sanitation protective clothing should be followed. Must have sanitation/cleaning experience. Must be able to work with 160 degree water, around odors and with chemicals.

Based on good work ethic and attendance, everyone would have an opportunity for advancement with a pay raise and be considered for full time opportunities after 60-90 days.

GMP requirements

  • no jewelry can be worn on the production floor at the main building. You can wear jewelry in the assortment dept. 
  • No fake nails or nail polish.
  • Steel Toe or Composite safety boots/shoes are required, all other PPE needed for the position is provided by the company.

Maintenance Technicians will work both in teams and in conjunction with production to ensure machine availability is maximized.

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience:  

          HS diploma required

  • Associate degree preferred; experience in maintenance role can be used in lieu of degree.
  • Food manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices is preferred

Computer and Technology Skills: 

MS-office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams). SAP & Product Data Management software experience is a plus to this position.                           

Language Skills:               

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.  German language speaking skills is another advantage.

 

Mathematical Skills:     

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as:  fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.           

 

Reasoning Ability:     

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Summary Description: Clean parts according to process procedures and meet quality standards for that part using grinders to ensure that castings meet quality standards required by the customer. 

Essential Functions:

  • Grind and finish parts to ensure that castings meet quality standards
  • Inspect castings before and after grinding for visual defects
  • Lift and transfer castings from containers to grinding table, lift and transfer castings from grinding table to finished parts container

  • Move (push/pull) material pallets on rollers
