  • Test Technician 3rd Shift

    Location: Mesa,, AZ Base Pay: 17.25 per HOUR

    Mesa Area Manufacturer is seeking 2nd Shift Test Operators

    PAY: $17.25hr

    Schedule: Monday through Friday 10pm to 6:30am ( OT as needed)

    For Ballistic area:
    ? Sets up and performs production and basic to advanced engineering automobile airbag tests.
    ? Conducts pre and post-deployment inspections of inflators and components for physical integrity; may examine parts for
    conformance with dimensional specifications.
    ? Participates in installing inflators to be used in test fixtures, connecting valves, pumps, hydraulic, mechanical or
    electrical controls, cabling and indicating instruments.
    ? Accurately report and enter test data
    ? Identifies discrepancies, process/recycle tested parts and waste.
    ? Troubleshoot and repair of industrial automation equipment, including knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical
    systems (cams, gears, etc.), and industrial electronics.
    ? Set-up and operate various manual machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, etc.
    ? Monitors controls and instruments, while recording test data for engineer’s use.
    ? Calibrates and maintains test equipment by using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multi
    meters.
    ? Performs moderate physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, bending, continuous standing, etc.
    ? Calibrates, fabricates, troubleshoots to the component level and maintains test equipment.
    For Metallurgy area:
    ? Perform metallurgy preparation including cross section, mounting, grinding, polishing and etching.
    ? Perform routine and non-routine mechanical testing using Instron
    ? Conducts weld evaluation and measurement using microscopes.
    ? Perform regular preventive maintenance on Metallurgy lab equipment.
    ? Report any malfunctions of Metallurgy lab equipment to supervisor.
    ? Assist in creating and updating standard operating procedures.
    ? Ensure all equipment that requires calibration is up to date with calibration.
    ? Ensure that all chemicals used in metallurgy have a HMRA/ MSDS.
    ? Maintains documentation of all tests performed, and reports the data in the system properly

    Summary
    Verifies quality and approves the release of manufactured parts or assembly based on customer requirements and specifications

    Responsibilities:
    • Utilizes precision measuring instruments and special inspection equipment to inspect first-piece, in-process and final
    manufactured parts according to drawing specifications
    • Operates Coordinating Measuring Machine (CMM) to perform inspection procedures
    • Determines acceptance or rejection of products based on requirements
    • Notifies supervision of products failing to meet customer expectations
    • Works with supervision on duties and tasks, selecting from written instructions and establish procedures
    • Completes all required documents and maintain records that pertain to quality control

    The Production Inspector performs routine visual, mechanical and electrical inspection of printed circuit boards, systems and sub-assemblies at several points in the operation for quality in compliance with required standards.

    Responsibilities:
    • Works from detailed Process Sheets, Visual Aid Packages, Engineering Change Orders, Production Change Notices, Critical Item List and other relevant written instructions
    • Inspects for proper positioning of components, soldering, markings and other various quality requirements related to various manufacturing technologies, which may include touch-up or defects found in the inspection process
    • Obtains the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment and verifies the paperwork as the correct effective date
    • Verifies placement, polarity and labels on circuit boards
    • Uses Defect Code List to identify defects and route boards to rework/repair facilities
    • Performs minimal rework/repair duties as necessary
    • Performs minimal hand solder operations on printed circuit board assemblies
    • Completes necessary routing tasks per procedure
    • Enters board and/or systems quantities into the Baan ERP system
    • Inputs data into PFS
    • Performs duties under close supervision
    • Checks configuration on all assemblies
    • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering as appropriate
