Job Summary:

The Forklift Driver is responsible for safely operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, stack, load, and unload materials or products within a warehouse, production, or distribution environment. This role supports shipping, receiving, inventory control, and general warehouse operations to ensure efficient and accurate handling of goods.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate forklifts including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, pallet jack, cherry picker, or clamp truck depending on task and load type.

  • Safely load and unload trailers, containers, pallets, and storage racks.

  • Transport materials throughout the facility as directed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Pull orders for shipment or production based on pick lists or RF scanner instructions.

  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.

  • Assist in staging, labeling, wrapping, or palletizing materials as needed.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas.

  • Follow all company safety rules, policies, and OSHA regulations while operating equipment.

  • Support inventory control processes including cycle counts and material tracking.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with multiple forklift types (sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, cherry picker).

  • Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and procedures.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

  • Minimum 6 months to 1 year of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting production goals.

  • Basic math and reading skills; familiarity with RF scanners or warehouse systems is a plus.

  • Willingness to work flexible shifts, overtime, or weekends as needed.
