    Location: Piqua, OH Base Pay: 20.00 per HOUR

    SUMMARY for MOIi M02, M03:

    Observing all safety rules and using food work practices, the Machine Operator sets up product specific tooling in the production lines and runs production lines to produce product that conforms to customer specifications. Machine Operator may also use a forklift or crane to load and unload raw material and/or finished product cut from production lines. All quality requirements are the responsibility of the Machine Operator. The Machine Operator may also dispose of nonconforming material as requested. Occasionally one may need to perform the duties of the material handler, shipping/receiving as requested. Must be able to work in a group environment. Assisting other operators when necessary is an option as per group leader instructions.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following for all MO levels. Other duties may be assigned, for specific directions in doing those duties, see Level 3 Work Instructions.

    SKILLS REQUIRED:

    The Machine Operator will possess the:

    • Ability to follow safety procedures. o Observational skills. o Mechanical aptitude.
    • Measuring skills using instruments such as calipers, micrometers and dial indicators. o Cognitive ability to diagnose problems. o Handwriting and reading skills. o Material handling skills.
    • Ability to read & work with dimensional part drawings.
    • Eyesight to read fine instrument graduations & small print on part drawings.

    SETTING UP THE LINE: The Machine Operator's primary duties include setting dies and rollers in specific machines according to the product specifications. This involves lifting dies that weight as much as 65 lbs. into place and bolting them according to set up instructions. Bolt torques specifications may be as high as 150 ft. /lbs.

    Additionally, the operators will place rollers and shafts in specific machines conferring to product specifications and adjust them accordingly to instructions provided. Rollers/Shafts combinations can weight up to 75 lbs.

    As part of the machine/tooling set up procedure. The Operator will set parameters in all other equipment in the production line and adjust accordingly. With the exception of setting rotary cutters for Level MOI.

    RUNNING PRODUCTION: The Machine Operator will run product in view to customer requirements. This includes measuring product dimensions and recording SPC data. It also includes performing specific checks as outlined in our job instructions. The Operator will make necessary adjustments to the production line to correct problems that develop during the course of production

    Furthermore, the operator will use two different joining welds to join raw or finished material during the course of the production. Moreover will check tooling coolant levels and concentration levels at required time during production.

    OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Maintenance:

    o The machine operator will perform maintenance tasks as requested. This may include greasing bearings or changing machine parts. The machine operator will keep tools and supplies arranged neatly and orderly in work area.

    TOOLS AND TOOLING: The Machine Operator will remove tooling form the production line at the end of the production run, clean it thus to instruction sand deliver it to tooling department. The Operator will have common hand tools necessary to perform daily responsibilities. STG CARRIER will provide tools and supplies. It is the duty of the operator to keep their area clean and in good order. A request for replenishment of supplies or tools is the responsibility of the machine operator.

    QugJtLThe Machine Operator is responsible for his/hers own quality management of the product. It is the duty of the operator to stop his/hers production line and notify the supervisor is any serious problems arise. Adjustments to the process or equipment is to be completed, so that product meets the customer needs.

    JANITORIAL DUTIES: The machine Operator is accountable of trash disposal from production line daily. He/She will keep machine areas mopped, swept and keep machines in production line clean. Occasionally, the machine operator will paint machines.
