Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-driven CMM Programming Quality Inspector to support our quality control operations in the high-performance automotive sector. In this role, you will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure the precision and quality of our supercharger components meet engineering specifications and high-performance standards.
Note: Automotive industry experience is not required. We welcome candidates from any manufacturing or precision machining background who have strong CMM programming and inspection skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and optimize CMM programs (PC-DMIS or similar) for first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components.
- Perform hands-on inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other measurement tools to validate CMM results and support quick-turn quality checks.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, 3D models, and GD&T callouts for high-precision components.
- Document inspection results and communicate quality issues with manufacturing, engineering, and production teams.
- Identify and report non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain calibration and condition of inspection tools and CMM equipment.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality department to enhance part quality and reduce inspection time.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical training in metrology, machining, or related field preferred.
- Hands-on experience in CMM programming and inspection in a manufacturing or precision machining environment.
- Proficiency in PC-DMIS or similar CMM software.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and the ability to read/interpret complex blueprints.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
