Quality Coordinator

Temporary Position - 90 days

7am-7pm Monday - Thursday

 Job Profile Summary

Maintains quality standards by inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products, and recording the results. Properly documents inspection results in reports and logs. Maintains measurement and testing equipment and helps resolve issues. Looks for continuous improvement opportunities and stays current on industry trends and best practices. Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-3 years of relevant experience.

 

Key Responsibilities 

    • Inspects incoming, in-process, and finished materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, and communicating needed adjustments to the supervisor.
    • Documents and updates inspection results by completing reports and logs. If needed, returns products for re-work and completes documentation confirming re-work.
    • Collects, reviews and summarizes laboratory and in-plant process quality information and trends.
    • Ensures measurement equipment is operating correctly by following operating instructions and calling for repairs when needed.
    • Assists in resolving quality-related issues, tracking quality trends, and recommending and implementing plans to improve quality and production efficiency.
    • Stays current on industry trends and best practices. 
    • Performs other responsibilities as assigned. 

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience 

    • Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 2-3 years of relevant experience. 

Knowledge and Skills 

  • Possesses quality control experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possesses some experience utilizing common lab equipment for quality control testing (e.g., scales, electronic instruments, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills.
  • Works effectively as a member of a team.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and any other relevant software

Mechanical Technician to support Manufacturing Facility, mechanical and electrical equipment and associated production equipment for the packaging/plastics industry. Position involves comprehensive mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair of not only production equipment, but general facility maintenance. Primary duties also involve preventative maintenance and upkeep of production and grounds equipment, including necessary parts replacement ordering, stock and inventory upkeep. Documented history of work with regards to: complex mechanical components, electrical troubleshooting, machining components, gearboxes, pneumatics, hydraulics and the like is essential to this role. Experience with Mill and/or Lathe and/or similar machining components, and welding are very beneficial to this role. Computer work revolves around Windows Operating System for updating of parts inventory and repair ticket processing.

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specification to determine layout of electrical equipment installations, maintenance and repair Ability to assemble, install, test and maintain electrical or electronic wiring equipment on Plant and Production systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and corrective maintenance on equipment
  • Perform troubleshooting and calibration
  • Perform mechanical/electrical maintenance to meet safety, housekeeping, quality, cost, and production requirements with minimal supervision
  • Perform various work duties at the direction of his/her supervisor and manager
  • Must be a leader who is an active participant for positive change and help us attain/sustain improved performance (WCM/Lean)

Location: La Grange, 60525

Pay Rate: $25Hr-$32/HR

Shifts:

  • 1st shift 7am to 3pm Monday-Friday 
  • 2nd shift 3pm -11pm Monday-Friday 

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • High School or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of experience
  • Good command of written and verbal English
  • Good mathematical skills and attention to details
  • Ability to work in a high-speed, fast-paced environment
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to work responsibly with and around liquid chemical products
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, eye/hand co-ordination
  • Able to work overtime when needed during the week and weekends
  • Able to operate a forklift
