Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable Forklift Operator / Dockworker – Warehouse Associate for a temp-to-hire opportunity at a busy warehouse facility in St. Paul, MN. This role is primarily a sit-down forklift position, with most of the shift spent moving palletized materials in a dock and warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely unload, sort, handle, and load freight according to written and verbal instructions
  • Operate a sit-down forklift for the majority of the shift to move palletized product
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Handle palletized bagged material carefully; repair or rework damaged product when required
  • Use hand and power tools to support outbound blocking and bracing of containers
  • Read work orders or receive verbal instructions to determine work assignments and material needs
  • Maintain accurate records to support timely and accurate shipment processing
  • Work in a team environment to meet daily productivity goals
  • Use computers, email, RF scanners, and a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to track inventory and complete documentation
  • Follow all safety, security, and quality procedures, including C-TPAT and TSA requirements
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior warehouse, dock, or forklift experience preferred
  • Sit-down forklift experience required; certification preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and good follow-up skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders and general business documents
  • Ability to write basic reports and documentation
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills (WMS, RF scanners; SAP experience a plus but not required)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with peers
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills; knows when to escalate issues
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Reliable, accountable, and willing to learn and remain teachable
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
