Shift: 2nd Shift | Monday – Thursday, 3:30 PM – 2:00 AM (Mandatory Overtime May Apply) - Flexible

Position Summary

The Machine Operator II is responsible for translating sheet metal design specifications into machine-readable instructions using CAD/CAM software and operating fabrication machinery. This role plays a key part in programming and operating machines such as S4 and P4 to produce high-quality parts used in the assembly of APG cash drawers. The ideal candidate ensures production accuracy, safety, and timely completion of jobs in accordance with customer and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate sheet metal designs into machine-readable instructions using CAD/CAM software.
  • Automate programming processes to streamline machine operation and improve efficiency.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor fabrication machines, including S4, P4, and other press or punch machines.
  • Perform quality inspections to ensure fabricated parts meet specifications and standards.
  • Maintain clean and organized equipment and work areas in accordance with safety protocols.
  • Maximize machine utilization while meeting production deadlines and shift goals.
  • Support and enforce compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, inspection, or production environment.
  • Experience programming with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Prior experience with machine programming and fabrication operations.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and consistently lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using measurement tools such as calipers and rulers.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate and support colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience programming Trumpf machines or similar equipment.
  • Familiarity with automated machine programming and digital inspection tools.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing materials, tooling setups, and machine capabilities.

Work Environment

This position involves working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, machinery, and metal fabrication equipment. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required and provided.

Position Summary

The Machine Operator will work in a fast-paced fabrication and production environment, operating and setting up a variety of metalworking equipment. This role includes machine setup, production operation, quality inspection, and basic equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate has prior fabrication experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a small, skilled team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and set up fabrication machinery including roll bending, tube bending, shearing, brake forming, sawing, and plate rolling equipment

  • Assist with programming or adjusting machine settings to meet production specifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine proper setup and material requirements

  • Perform machine setup, run production parts, and complete routine preventative maintenance

  • Inspect finished products using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, etc.) to ensure accuracy and quality

  • Maintain production logs and report equipment or quality issues promptly

  • Coordinate workflow with team members to ensure efficient production processes

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating metal fabrication or industrial machinery required

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  • Experience with brake presses, roll benders, or similar equipment preferred

  • Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-focused
