Job Summary

• Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.

• Summary of Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities • Programs mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

• Sets-up mills by installing tools, attachments, collets, stops, and indicating vices • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position. • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to company SOPs.

• Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, and thread chasing. • Maintains safe operation by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

• Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. • Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequences of operations and setup requirements.

• Measures, marks and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces as guides for subsequent machining. • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines.

• Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut. • Fits and assembles parts into complete assembly • Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly

• Prepares production equipment for operation by making equipment setup adjustments, assisting with equipment changeovers.

• Maintains quality standards and customer specifications by conducting first-piece and in-process inspection; completing production control charts; analyzing recordings and making equipment adjustments.

• Helps trains others for production job responsibilities by demonstrating operational procedures. • Maintains machine operation by solving production process problems; making equipment adjustments; reporting production and quality data; reporting decisions made; referring questions to the supervisor.

• Maintains production operations by following policies and procedures (equipment, raw and in-process materials, and finished goods); reporting needed changes.

• Ensures operation of equipment by following preventative maintenance policies and procedures; reporting needed changes and repairs. • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed through cooperation with team members and acceptance of re-assignments as directed by supervisors. • Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements • Minimum of 1 yr. manufacturing experience required.

• Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Education and/or Experience • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Other Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of measuring devices • Basic computer knowledge

• Ability to read and understand work orders • Must be able to read and interpret drawings, routers, use simple/basic math, and basic hand-held measuring tools.
