Phoenix Steel Company is hiring experienced QC Steel Weld Inspectors to join our team at a world class steel fabrication facility supporting high profile commercial, bridge, and industrial projects. This is a contract to hire opportunity with competitive pay and long term potential.

Work Location

• Phoenix, AZ

Schedule

• Second shift position

• Training on first shift for 1 to 2 weeks

• Second shift hours are 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM or 4:00 PM to 3:00 AM

• Monday through Friday, Saturdays as needed

Pay

• $28.00 to $30.00 per hour, based on experience

• Contract to hire after 90 days based on performance

Position Overview

The QC Steel Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring weld quality and dimensional accuracy throughout the fabrication process. This position supports the production team by verifying that all work meets contract requirements, drawings, and industry standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of shop fabrication, including weld prep, final welds, and paint inspections

• Ensure fabricated materials conform to drawings, shop standards, specifications, and applicable codes

• Record and maintain in-process and final inspection documentation

• Identify and resolve drawing discrepancies with detailers

• Coordinate inspections with customer inspectors

• Communicate defects to foremen and assist shop personnel with code, drawing, and specification interpretation

Job Requirements:

Experience and Qualifications

• Experienced QC Inspector required

   

• CWI certification is a plus but not required

   

• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, weld inspection, and dimensional inspection

   

• Familiarity with applicable codes, standards, and specifications
