  • Start pay: $20.00 per hour (Resume, Onsite Interview & Steel Toe Shoes Required)
  • 1st shift: 5AM-5:30PM, Monday-Friday with flexibility to cover second shift as needed
  • 2nd shift: 5PM-5:30AM, Sunday-Thursday

The QA Plant Monitor/Truck Sampler-De-linter is responsible for assisting the Quality Control group to conduct plant monitoring testing on cottonseed for quality standards in raw and processed forms.

Job Duties:

  • Key emphasis will be placed on performing quality checks which may include but not limited to: Truck Sampling, Sample De-Linting, Acid Percentage, Dryer Temperature, Buffer Temperature, Bushel Weights, pH, Cleanout Percentages, Seed Count, Tare Analysis, Seed Appearance, Bag Analysis, Calibration of Scales, and Down Time Coding.
  • Perform inspections on packaged finished product to verify standards are met.
  • Assist with variety cleanouts.
  • Enter data on Plant Monitoring Spreadsheet. Report any deviations of quality parameters.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tests for extended time periods following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions (WI).
  • Ability to work near/with other workers on daily basis.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean work area.
  • Follow safe work practices.
  • Majority of testing requires standing and walking for periods of time in an industrial and warehouse setting.
  • Contact with industrial equipment such as Delinter, Dryer, Buffer, Cleaner, Gravity Tables, Seed Tanks, Shakers, Conveyors, Baggers, Scales, Palletizer, Wrapper, Forklifts, Trucks, and Loading Ramp.
  • Utilization of lab equipment to include: Temperature Probe, pH Meter, Beakers, Distilled Water, Buffers, Scales, Bushel Weight Apparatus, and Seed Counter.
  • Individuals will work primarily in an industrial/warehouse and or lab environment.

Job Requirements:

  • GED or High School Diploma required.
  • PPE (safety glasses, coveralls, gloves, safety boots, and hardhat) is required. PPE with the exception of steel boots provided.

Essential Functions:

•Clean multiple restrooms, shower stations, office & cafeteria areas with use of proper chemicals and tools.
•Maintain a Master Sanitation Schedule and fill out proper and accurate documentation for quality assurance purposes.
•Meet cleaning frequencies established by work scope Schedule.
•Communicate with the Team Leader & Group Supervisor to troubleshoot issues and make recommendations for improvement.
•Maintain restroom & shower station chemical inventory quantities on an ongoing basis and interact with the Sanitation Lead for advice on training or issues related to sanitation.
•Follow task work instruction sheets (WIS) policies and maintain superior plant cleanliness.
•Adhere to all safety practices including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
•Follow all established company policies and practices.
•Maintain the sanitation program with minimal supervision.
•The equipment/tools utilized to perform the essential functions of the job are including but not limited to the following: floor scrubbers; industrial i-mops; various chemicals; spray bottles; hand tools; tile cleaners & polishers; buckets; hand towels; mops; broom; squeegee; industrial vacuums.
•Must be able to stand and walk all day; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds individually, or 50 pounds during a team lift, using proper bending and lifting. Other required abilities include reading, calculation, measuring, planning, interpreting, explaining, compiling, and communicating verbally.
•May occasionally work outside. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The work areas may be hot or cold.
