ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• Responsible for efficient operation, corrective and preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment start up. 
• Conducts quality inspections to verify all parts meet specifications and quality standards. 
• Must meet and/or exceed established production, set-up and quality standards as defined.  Communicate with Operator and Supervisor on all issues concerning quality, components and machine performance in a timely manner.
• Complete downtime log accurately. 
• Assure that all labeling documentation; e.g. samples, waste is properly identified. 
• Knowledgeable of all appropriate SOP’s. 
• Keeps work area clean and orderly in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and health and safety requirements.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety, documentation and attendance requirements.
• Accurately complete all paperwork and maintain all files associated with the position.  Participate in performance improvement measures and tasks.
• Recommends improvements and Performs other duties as assigned, including but not limited to performing other job classifications as necessary by production schedules and other operating needs.

• Requires knowledge of standard set ups, adjustments and operating characteristics of the equipment and skill to perform standard adjustments and operate the equipment
• Ability to set up, operate, and perform basic adjustments to the equipment according to the individual job requirements, operating characteristics, and capabilities of the equipment
• Typically, the adjustments performed at this level are routine and the need for such adjustments are readily apparent

Flexo Press Operator Job function:

• Operator will set up, adjust, operate, and maintain multi-color offset flexo press to print up to ten-color work, which includes large solids, screen tints, line and halftones with critical color values and registration requirements.

• Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as mounting plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, adjusting tension and register, etc.

• Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work. Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, working with maintenance to make minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required. Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer.
