Chemical Treatment Operator – 1st Shift
Pay: $21.50 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, 1st Shift
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented CTD Operator to join our team on 1st shift. The ideal candidate will have some experience working with chemicals (general chemical handling experience is acceptable), along with strong attention to safety and quality.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing chemical treatment department operations, including pickling, bright dipping, phosphatizing, and passivating parts according to written instructions and manufacturing orders. You will also operate the filter press system, process filter cake, maintain chemical tanks, and help ensure a clean, organized work area.
Candidates with previous experience in a chemical-processing or industrial environment are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chemical treatment processes such as pickling, bright dipping, phosphatizing, and passivating
- Operate and maintain the filter press system, including processing, bagging, and labeling filter cake
- Safely connect and handle processing chemicals
- Maintain tank solutions and change them out as required
- Keep work areas clean, orderly, and compliant with safety standards
- Provide guidance and training to CTD Operator 2 team members
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental rules and procedures
- Work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
Work Environment
- Industrial/factory environment
- Regular exposure to vibration and occasional work near moving mechanical parts
- Possible exposure to hazardous equipment
- Moderately loud noise levels (hearing protection provided/required in certain areas)
- Use of hand tools, gauges, and small power tools
Physical Requirements
- Standing for up to 8 hours per day
- Frequent walking, reaching, handling, and balancing
- Regular lifting up to 10 lbs, frequent lifting up to 25 lbs, occasional lifting up to 40 lbs
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed
- Ability to distinguish colors and adjust visual focus

Qualifications
- Prior experience handling chemicals (any industry)
- Strong reading and basic math skills
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift/move up to 40 lbs
- Strong focus on safety and quality
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and dependable
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good attendance is required
