Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3:15PM-11:45pPM
Overtime: Saturdays, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
Pay Rate: $25 per hour
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our fabrication team. The Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC laser cutting equipment to cut metal materials according to engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules. This role ensures parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and safely while meeting established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC laser cutting machines for steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials.
- Load and unload metal sheets using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material-handling equipment.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and cut lists.
- Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before cutting.
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using calipers, tape measures, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
- Adjust machine parameters (speed, power, focus) to maintain proper cut quality.
- Remove cut parts, sort, label, and stage materials for downstream processes.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning lenses, checking consumables, and basic troubleshooting.
- Report any equipment issues, material defects, or quality concerns to supervision.
- Follow all company safety procedures, including PPE usage and lockout/tagout protocols.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- 1–3 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting equipment in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and basic GD&T.
- Proficiency using inspection and measuring tools.
- Familiarity with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., with or without assistance.
- Ability to work in environments with noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
