Job Opening: PRESS BRAKE PROGRAMMER

ResourceMFG has a great opportunity for a Brake Pres Programmer within the city of Chatsworth, CA
- Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 DOE
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift/Fulltime
- Needs to be able to work over and Saturdays if needed
This position would focus exclusively on programming and optimizing CNC equipment for sheet metal operations. We are not actively hiring for machinists, CNC mill programmers, inspectors, production supervisors, or any roles outside of deep sheet metal fabrication expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize CNC programs for sheet metal punch presses, laser cutting machines, and combination punch/laser equipment.
- Utilize SolidWorks to review, modify, or create models and flat patterns as needed for programming.
- Generate efficient nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and minimize waste.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure accurate part production.
- Simulate programs and tool paths to verify quality, efficiency, and machine compatibility before production.
- Troubleshoot programming issues, collaborate on setup improvements, and support production floor as needed for sheet metal processes.
- Maintain revision control and documentation for programs and related files.
Required Qualifications
- Strong background and proven experience specifically in sheet metal fabrication (required; candidates without this will not be considered).
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (modeling, assemblies, sheet metal features, flat pattern development).
- Hands-on experience programming CNC punch machines and CNC laser cutting machines (CO2 or fiber; combination machines a plus).
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software for sheet metal (e.g., nesting tools like SigmaNEST or similar; ability to adapt quickly).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and specifications.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on precision, efficiency, and quality in high-mix, low- to medium-volume production environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

- Machinists or CNC mill/turning programmers.
- Inspectors, quality control specialists, or production supervisors.
- Candidates without direct sheet metal industry experience.
