Position Overview
A Maintenance Technician is needed to support operations in a plating shop environment. This role is responsible for maintaining the condition of facilities, systems, and equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
Compensation & Schedule
- Wage: $22–$26 per hour (up to $30 for the right candidate)
- Hours: 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday
- Location: Brooklyn Park, Minnesota
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct preventive maintenance routines to ensure proper functioning and availability of equipment.
- Work autonomously and responsibly with minimal supervision while adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, including bearings, electric motors, pumps, fans, pipelines, and related components.
- Install and modify mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, or ventilation systems as needed, particularly in and around plating equipment and machinery.
- Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform general upkeep tasks such as carpentry, painting, and other assigned maintenance duties.
- Collaborate with Production and Wastewater Treatment teams to ensure all equipment is tested and operating safely.
- Report maintenance activities, issues, and concerns to management.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements & Skills
- Minimum of 1 year of proven experience as a maintenance technician.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
- Manual dexterity and effective problem-solving abilities.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Willingness to participate in job-specific and ongoing training.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively with management and coworkers.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid boiler operator license (Minnesota) required.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and distribution facility setting.
- Exposure to heat, humidity, dust, fumes, gases, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and loud noise.
- Regular proximity to moving equipment throughout the facility.
- Mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including safety goggles, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and safety gloves.
