Select Staffing has a great opportunity for a Shipping Clerk in Simi Valley, CA.
Hours: 5AM – 1:30PM
Monday to Friday
Overtime and Saturdays as needed
Job Summary
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for preparing, organizing, and shipping outgoing orders while maintaining accurate shipping records. This role includes operating a forklift to move, load, and stage materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process outgoing shipments according to company and customer requirements
- Verify orders for accuracy, including quantities, labeling, and documentation
- Load and unload trucks using a forklift and other material-handling equipment
- Stage and organize finished goods for shipment
- Maintain accurate shipping logs, bills of lading, and inventory records
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to meet shipping schedules
- Inspect shipments for damage and report discrepancies
- Follow all safety procedures, including forklift and warehouse safety standards
- Keep shipping and dock areas clean and organized
Forklift Duties
- Operate sit-down and/or stand-up forklifts to move pallets and materials
- Safely load and unload trailers
- Perform basic forklift inspections before use
- Follow OSHA and company forklift safety guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a warehouse/shipping environment preferred
- Forklift experience required (certification preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Basic computer skills (shipping systems, scanners, inventory software)
- Ability to read shipping documents and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and operate equipment for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time
- Warehouse/Distribution setting
- May require overtime based on shipping demands
