Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire (through staffing agency)
Position Overview
We are partnering with a well-established logistics and freight-forwarding operation in St. Paul, MN to hire a Forklift Operator / Dockworker – Warehouse Associate on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient loading, unloading, handling, and movement of freight within a fast-paced warehouse and dock environment.

Key Responsibilities

Safely load, unload, move, and stage freight using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling

Sort, handle, and secure freight in accordance with verbal and written instructions

Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine assignments and material needs

Operate hand and power tools as needed for blocking, bracing, and container loading

Maintain accurate shipment records and documentation to ensure on-time delivery

Utilize scanners, computers, email, and warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory and paperwork

Work collaboratively in a team-based dock and warehouse environment

Follow all safety, security, and compliance procedures (including C-TPAT and TSA guidelines)

Maintain regular attendance and support core workplace values

Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications

Forklift and/or pallet jack operation experience (certification preferred)

Strong attention to detail with good follow-up skills

Ability to read and interpret work orders and general business documents

Comfortable using computers, scanners, and warehouse software systems

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude

Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools

Ability to manage routine tasks with accuracy and consistency
Preferred Experience
-
Experience in freight forwarding, transportation, or logistics environments

Prior dockworker or warehouse experience
-
General maintenance or tool usage experience in an industrial setting
Education & Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred (or equivalent experience)

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 30 lbs individually and up to 70 lbs with team assistance

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting

Ability to work around moving equipment and in varying warehouse temperatures
